Creating sustainable organisational learning communities in Europe – CPG Project

Creating sustainable organisational learning communities in Europe

On 4 and 5 November, the Tuscan city of Arezzo hosted the Kick-off Meeting of the European project CPG – Community of Practice on GreenComp Skills for Organisations’ Human Capital, an Erasmus+ initiative that, over the next two years (2025–2027), will bring together partners from Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy to explore new ways of learning sustainability within organisations.

Hosted by OpenCom I.S.S.C., the meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative journey that sees training as a driver of cultural change. The project, led by Global Business Group Ltd (Bulgaria), involves Euro Education Bulgaria Ltd, Markeut Skills Sociedad Limitada (MEUS), System Dynamics Italian Chapter (SYDIC), and OpenCom I.S.S.C.

During the two working days, partners focused on the project’s operational and methodological structure, defining roles, activities, and shared tools. Beyond documents and charts, the discussions took the form of an open exchange — a collective attempt to understand how organisations can learn sustainability not only through formal training, but through participation, dialogue, and lived experience.

This approach lies at the heart of CPG. The project explores the potential of Communities of Practice (CoPs) as catalysts for sustainable transformation in business, linking everyday knowledge and workplace experience with the principles of GreenComp, the European sustainability competence framework developed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre.

Over the coming months, the partnership will conduct research on European best practices in Communities of Practice and sustainable learning. OpenCom I.S.S.C. (Italy) will coordinate this work with input from all partners, laying the foundation for the project’s next outputs: methodological tools, multimedia materials, and a digital platform designed to share experiences and results.

CPG acts as a European laboratory where sustainability is not treated as a slogan, but as a competence that grows over time through shared learning.

The next consortium meeting will take place in Valencia (Spain), where partners will present the first research outcomes.
